How it started
David's passion for photography and videography began when he was a child in Hinsdale, Illinois, in the Chicago area. “My father was a photographic hobbyist. We traveled all over the West during the 1960s and 1970s and went to many national parks,” David said. Some of the parks they visited included Yellowstone, the Redwoods, the Grand Canyon, and Yosemite.
My dad loved taking pictures of scenery with his Olympus camera and Kodachrome film. I still look at his slides to this day.
His father's finesse with the camera inspired David, but every time as an adult he planned to become a full-time photographer, other things in life got in the way. He worked in the food and beverage business for 15 years and in marketing and sales for 10 years. Along the way he lived in San Diego for almost six years before making the Sarasota area home in 1999. In January 2015, with the right mix of experience, he started his own photography business full time.
Personalized Photoart
After more than forty years behind the camera, David turned his hobby into a business. He founded Personalized Photoart Inc. and worked closely with realtors and their clients. He photographed homes with HDR photography, drone photos and video, and 3D virtual tours made with the Matterport camera.
David named his company Personalized Photoart to emphasize the personal connection he made with each client.
Everybody has a personal opinion on how photographs should look, and I pride myself in finding out what the customer needs because everybody is different.
“There are over 7,000 real estate agents in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, and not one is the same,” he said. “This is why I offer a range in prices and services.” He was committed to working until the client was satisfied.
For anyone buying or selling a home, David always advised using a real estate professional: “Remember, you are actually hiring this person to do a job, and I highly recommend that you interview no fewer than three realtors to make sure you are being taken care of.”

My son Sean is a Boy Scout and his goal is to be an Eagle Scout. He is now first class and well on his way.
My daughter Sheri loves to draw, and I think she'll be a great artist. She also likes to write.
